AI Business Brief

Friday, March 14, 2026

Today: Anthropic released 1M context windows for Claude Opus and Sonnet at standard pricing with no long-context premium. ServiceNow's CEO warns AI agents could push new grad unemployment past 30% as companies slash entry-level hiring. Zapier shipped agentic AI workflows and inline formulas that let you transform data without adding steps.

Lead Story

Anthropic just made the biggest context window in AI accessible to everyone, and they're not charging extra for it. Claude Opus 4.6 and Sonnet 4.6 now handle 1 million tokens at standard pricing, no long-context premium. That's roughly 750,000 words or about 1,500 pages of text in a single prompt.

If you run a business that deals with contracts, legal documents, research reports, or customer data, this changes what's possible. You can now feed Claude an entire year of customer support tickets, your complete product documentation, or a multi-hundred-page RFP and get analysis without chunking it up or building a complex RAG system. The competition still charges more once you cross certain thresholds. OpenAI's GPT-5.4 adds a surcharge above 272,000 tokens. Google's Gemini 3.1 Pro does the same at 200,000. Anthropic is betting that removing the pricing penalty will push more businesses to use AI for document-heavy workflows.

For small businesses, the practical use case is simple: instead of spending hours reading through dense documents or trying to summarize meeting notes manually, you can drop everything into Claude and ask targeted questions. If you're reviewing vendor contracts, analyzing competitive intelligence, or preparing for an audit, this is the tool you want. Read more

Tools & Launches

Zapier's agentic AI and inline formulas are here. Agentic AI lets you build workflows where multiple AI agents collaborate autonomously to handle complex, multi-step tasks. Think customer support triage, lead qualification, or data processing pipelines that adapt on the fly. Inline formulas let you clean data (trim text, extract emails, set fallbacks) directly inside Zap steps without adding a separate Formatter action. If you've been hitting step limits in your automations, this frees up capacity for the logic that actually matters. Both features are live now on all plans. Agentic AI details | Inline formulas

NanoClaw signed a deal with Docker. Six weeks ago, developer Gavriel Cohen built NanoClaw in a weekend as a secure alternative to OpenClaw. It went viral on Hacker News, got 22,000 GitHub stars, and now Docker is integrating Docker Sandboxes into it. If you've been spooked by OpenClaw's security issues (it downloads all your WhatsApp messages in plain text), NanoClaw is the tool to watch. It's open source, containerized, and doesn't give AI agents unrestricted access to your machine. If you're building AI agents for your business, security matters. This one gets it right. Read more

NVIDIA NeMo Retriever hit #1 on ViDoRe leaderboard. It's an agentic retrieval pipeline that dynamically adapts search strategies instead of relying on semantic similarity alone. If your business uses RAG systems to search internal documents, this matters. Traditional retrieval tools struggle with complex queries that require reasoning (like "find all contracts where the renewal clause changed between 2024 and 2025"). NeMo Retriever uses an iterative agent loop to rephrase queries, break down complexity, and refine results. It's built for enterprises dealing with messy, multi-domain data. Read more

Microsoft's Gaming Copilot is coming to Xbox consoles. After launching on the Xbox mobile app and Windows 11, Microsoft is bringing its AI assistant to current-gen consoles this year. You can ask it for help if you're stuck in a game, request tips or strategies, or get game recommendations. It's voice-activated. If you run a gaming business or esports team, this is worth watching. AI assistants are moving from productivity apps to entertainment, and Microsoft is betting gamers will talk to their Xbox like they talk to Alexa. Read more

Spotify is letting you edit your Taste Profile. Starting in New Zealand, Premium users can review and modify the algorithmically generated profile that powers Discover Weekly and Spotify Wrapped. You can remove tracks you don't want influencing recommendations (kids' music, sleep sounds, that one song your teenager played 500 times in the car). Changes use natural language prompts. If you've ever complained that Spotify's recommendations are terrible because your family shares your account, this fixes it. Expect a global rollout soon. Read more

Business Playbook

Craig Mod built custom accounting software with Claude in five days. He was tired of off-the-shelf tools that couldn't handle his needs (multiple currencies, international wire transfers, US and Japan tax requirements). He used Claude to build a local, blazing-fast accounting system that ingests any CSV, categorizes expenses automatically, and learns from his past tax returns. It pulls daily historical FX rates, reconciles wire transfer timing differences, and formats medical bills for his accountants. The key insight: if your business has unique workflows that don't fit standard SaaS tools, you can now build custom software without hiring a dev team. The tools are finally good enough. Read more

JPMorgan is becoming the new Silicon Valley Bank. After SVB collapsed in 2023, JPMorgan onboarded three years' worth of startup clients in a single weekend. Now they're building a full-scale competitor to SVB, Brex, Ramp, and Mercury. They hired key SVB talent, acquired First Republic, and doubled their startup banking revenue in 2023. For small businesses, this means more banking options with the stability of a giant institution. If you're shopping for business banking, JPMorgan now has digital-first account opening (under 15 minutes) and dedicated startup teams. Read more

Physical AI is moving from simulation to production. Microsoft and NVIDIA are partnering to bring AI-operated robotics to manufacturing floors. This isn't about replacing workers. It's about AI systems that coordinate machines, adapt to real-world variability, and work alongside people. If you run a manufacturing or logistics business, the next wave of productivity gains comes from AI that can perceive, reason, and act in the physical world, not just on screens. The companies moving first on this will have a serious advantage. Read more

Pricing & Access Watch

Anthropic's 1M context window pricing: No surcharge. Standard rates apply across the full window for Opus 4.6 and Sonnet 4.6. OpenAI and Google both charge more above certain thresholds. If you're processing large documents, Anthropic just became the most cost-effective option.

xAI is rebuilding from scratch. Elon Musk's AI lab has lost 9 of its 11 original co-founders as it struggles to compete with Claude Code and OpenAI's Codex. Musk said the company "was not built right the first time" and is being rebuilt from the ground up. If you've been evaluating Grok for coding assistance, wait. The tool isn't competitive yet, and the company is in turmoil. Read more

Industry Moves

Anthropic vs. the Pentagon standoff continues. Anthropic refused to let the Department of Defense use its AI for mass surveillance or autonomous weapons. The Pentagon declared Anthropic a "supply-chain risk" and ordered federal agencies to phase out Claude over six months. OpenAI then swooped in and signed a deal allowing its models in classified situations. ChatGPT uninstalls jumped 295% the day after the announcement, and Claude shot to #1 in the App Store. Public sentiment is clear: people don't want AI labs selling to the military without guardrails. If you're a business customer evaluating AI vendors, this matters. Anthropic is drawing hard lines on ethics. OpenAI is prioritizing government contracts. Choose accordingly. Read more

Google acquired Wiz for $32 billion. It's the largest venture-backed acquisition in history. Wiz is a cybersecurity startup focused on AI, cloud, and security spend. If you're running cloud infrastructure, this signals where the big money is going: tools that secure AI deployments and cloud environments. Google is betting that as AI adoption accelerates, security becomes the bottleneck. Read more

ServiceNow CEO warns new grad unemployment could hit mid-30s. AI agents are automating entry-level work so fast that companies are slashing hiring. Block cut nearly half its workforce. Atlassian laid off 10% to fund AI investments. If you run a business, this is the productivity wave you've been hearing about. If you hire recent grads, expect fewer available candidates because other companies are replacing them with AI. Plan your talent strategy accordingly. Read more

Quick Wins

Use Zapier's inline formulas to clean CRM data. If your CRM has messy contact info (emails with spaces, names in all caps, blank fields), you can now fix it inside your Zaps without adding Formatter steps. Apply Text.toLower() to emails, Text.trim() to remove spaces, and Text.coalesce() to set fallback values for empty fields. This is a five-minute fix that improves data quality across your entire pipeline. Try it now

Feed your entire product documentation to Claude. With 1M context windows, you can drop your full docs, customer support FAQs, and internal wikis into a single prompt. Ask Claude to find contradictions, identify gaps, or generate onboarding materials. No chunking, no RAG setup, just paste and ask. This is the fastest way to audit your knowledge base. Get started

Outlook

Agentic AI is shifting from buzzword to actual product. Zapier, NanoClaw, and NVIDIA all shipped real tools this week that let multiple AI agents collaborate autonomously. Meanwhile, the job market is splitting: entry-level roles are disappearing fast as companies replace junior workers with AI, while specialized roles (AI security, agent builders, prompt engineers) are exploding. If you're hiring, focus on people who can build and manage AI systems, not people doing tasks AI can already handle. If you're building products, the companies winning right now are the ones making AI tools that are secure (NanoClaw), cost-effective (Anthropic), and immediately useful (Zapier). Watch for more consolidation in the AI coding space as xAI struggles and Anthropic and OpenAI pull ahead.
